Sermon 05-08-11 "Bold"
The word “apostle” means “sent one,” indicating that the gospel of Jesus was not intended to be static. The apostolic faith is always on the move. The book of Acts records the life of the early church, their activity always “caffeinated” and “electric.” Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, “Without our God we are afraid to move; but when He tells us to, it is dangerous to linger.”
“Let us not seek to make it less monstrous, for our own convenience.”
- John Updike on the resurrection
