Sermon 08.12.12

Loved/Sent In Residence

It’s typical for universities to have experts “in residence”—an artist, scholar, or professional who comes to live with the academy and teach the community.  In the month of August we will go deeper into our Loved/Sent vision with "Pastor in Residence" Ed Dubberke and "Missionary in Residence" Robert Millar.  During these four Sundays (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th), we will be having abbreviated worship services followed by a one hour training session on the Bookmark with Robert.  If you’re visiting with us, excuse our modified schedule.

Pastor Ed brings 56 years of ministry experience, a fatherly care, and a deep understanding of the gospel.  Pastor Ed, also known as "Kid 81," is currently on staff at Christ Memorial as Pastor of Intersession, and sits on the Young Life College committee as Chaplain.  Robert Millar comes with mission experience in Munich, Germany, and just marked one year in St. Louis, where he has worked with local Christians (some of our members) in establishing Young Life College - St. Louis.  Both men bring a deep heart for the gospel and a fervent passion for the mission of the church.
