Sermon 04-01-12 :: "The Self" Exposed

Today is Palm Sunday, marking Jesus’ triumphal ride into Jerusalem. Christians around the world observe this day. It marks the beginning of the week in which Jesus selflessly gave his life. Today we expose selfishness – the very opposite of selflessness. In John 12, Jesus calls us to “lose” our life, even to “hate” our life. What does this mean? How does one go about this? What does it mean to deny your “self?”
